Steptember 4th - Rileys Mountain Lookout

Welcome to the 4th post of my Steptember series! Unfortunately it was pouring rain today so this photo wasn’t taken today but it does give you a little peek into my life outside of these horrible lockdowns!

Rileys Mountain Lookout

Here’s a hike I went on recently right before delta took a hold of Sydney. This amazing photo was taken at Rileys Mountain Lookout. I originally drove to this location because of the The Rock lookout, which was awesome, but lacked the tens-of-kilometres spanning vista’s that I love to see. You need to walk down the Rileys Mountain Track to get to this secluded location and enjoy the full view!

The lookout gives you about 270° of vision around you of the amazing mountains and rivers that run along them in the valleys. Combined with the high lookout it’s an amazing sight of seeing mountains in every direction, almost like waves of land coming in to greet you or carpet of trees you wish you could walk across.

The location is a little out of the way of Greater Sydney, and I’ll warn you that right before the lookout there’s an unmaintained dirt full of dips and bumps, my Lancer Sedan barely made it out. It’s difficult to navigate so make sure you’re confident and take it slow if you have a small car.

This is a little deviation from my usual posts but it’s a little peek into what I want to use this blog for! Eventually I’ll be posting what I think about hiking trails and beaches I visit.

And for now we’ll resume to our usual programmed content, thanks for reading!
